Lorraine Spellman has been named Lancer Female Athlete of the Week.
A second year veteran with the Lancer women's volleyball team, Spellman was at the top of her game over the weekend when the team hosted the Centennial Colts. The 5'6 setter ran a fantastic offence against the Colts that consistently put her team in scoring position. True to form, Spellman jacked ball after ball to the antennas from deep in the court while also putting finess on difficult balls to find her middles at unexpected times.
Not only can Spellman control the court from a setting perspective, she has one of the toughest serves in the league and recorded an impressive 6 aces on the game to bring her season total to 20.
With the first half of the season wrapped up for the break, Spellman and her team will enjoy a well deserved break until the New Year.
