The Loyalist Lancers' men's basketball team continues to add to their 2018 recruiting class with the signing of local talent, Jack Whitley.

Whitley comes to the Lancers after a successful highschool career with the Quinte Saints where he was named 2018 team MVP and Male Athlete of the Year.

The 6'0 guard played with the Belleville Spirits since grade 5 and has become one of the top players to come out of the area in recent years. Having turned in phenomenal performances during his team's trip to AAA OFSAA this past season, Whitley received plenty of attention from an assortment of coaches.

Men's basketball coach Patrick Kabeya is happy to have Whitley on his team. "Jack's put on a show at OFSAA and a lof of coaches got to see his full potential. I'm excited he chose to come to Loyalist.  He's a combo guard that's got good scoring abilities, plus he's athletic and he rebounds well."

Whitley is the third athlete to sign with the men's basketball program in July and will take part in upcoming training camps on August 17/18th.

The men's basketball team kicks off their regular season schedule in October against the George Brown Huskies.
