Lancers Extend Win Streak to Four with Road Victory Over the Surge

The Loyalist Lancers men's basketball team continued their hottest stretch of the season on Wednesday night, picking up a crucial road win over the St. Lawrence Surge to push their win streak to four straight games. 

From the opening tip, the Lancers displayed composure and purpose. Their ball movement and shot selection put early pressure on the Surge defense, while Loyalist's defensive intensity held St. Lawrence to contested looks throughout the night. Transition play was a key difference-maker as the Lancers pushed the pace off rebounds and turnovers, generating high‑percentage opportunities at the rim.

On the defensive end, Loyalist's rotations were sharp and disciplined. The Lancers closed out shooters, protected the paint, and controlled the glass—limiting St. Lawrence's second‑chance scoring and disrupting their rhythm in half‑court sets.

Offensively, Loyalist found the balance that has become a hallmark of their mid‑season surge. Multiple players stepped up with efficient scoring, strong guard play kept the offense flowing, and the Lancers' depth once again proved to be an asset as bench contributions kept the energy high from start to finish.

Most importantly, the Lancers showed late‑game poise—slowing the tempo, taking care of the ball, and executing in the final minutes to put the game out of reach. 

The victory marks the fourth win in a row for Loyalist after recent triumphs over Centennial, George Brown, and Fleming, with the team trending upward at the perfect moment.

The Lancers now head into their final stretch of regular‑season play with confidence, chemistry, and a growing identity. 

Loyalist returns home looking to extend their win streak to five as they prepare for a major late‑season showdown against the divison's first place Durham Lords on Saturday, February 7th at 3 PM.
