Lancers Men’s Basketball Advances to OCAA Quarterfinals After 80–74 Win at Lambton

The Loyalist Lancers Men's Basketball team is officially quarterfinal‑bound after earning a hard‑fought 80–74 road victory over the Lambton Lions on Sunday in Sarnia. The win sends the Lancers into the next round of the OCAA playoffs, where they will now return home to host a massive quarterfinal matchup. 

This postseason push continues a remarkable turnaround for the Lancers, who closed out the regular season on a seven‑game win streak, climbing their way into 5th place in the OCAA East Division with an 11–7 record. Their strong second‑semester surge carried directly into the qualifier round, where they showed poise, toughness, and balance in taking down a talented Lambton squad.

Sunday's qualifier was everything a playoff game should be: physical, competitive, and tightly contested from start to finish. The Lancers executed when it mattered most, controlling key possessions down the stretch and closing the game with composure on both ends of the floor.

With the qualifier victory secured, the Lancers now turn their attention to the Sheridan Bruins, whom they will host in a Quarterfinal showdown on Sunday, March 1st at 3:00 PM

Sheridan made their way into quarters after a massive upset over the Georgian Grizzlies in the qualifier round. The 8th place Bruins took down the 1st place Grizzlies in a tight, 104-101 buzzer-beater finish.

With the Lancers riding an eight‑game win streak and playing their best basketball of the year, the stage is set for an electric atmosphere on home court.
