Lancers Make History as Both Basketball Team Advance OCAA Final Four

In a finale worthy of the Lancerdome's legacy, the Loyalist Lancers Women's and Men's Basketball teams delivered a historic afternoon that will be remembered for years to come. For the first time in program history, both Lancers teams have punched their ticket to the OCAA Final Four and, they did it in the final games ever played inside the beloved Lancerdome.

With stands packed and energy surging, the atmosphere inside the gym exemplified everything the Lancerdome has meant to the college community. 

The Lancers Women's Basketball team continued their undefeated season with a gritty 74–69 victory over the West Division's 4th‑place St. Clair Saints. The semifinal berth adds another milestone to an already remarkable year—one that includes an East Division Championship and a long list of OCAA major award winners.

The women now advance to the 2026 OCAA Women's Championship, hosted by the Mohawk Mountaineers on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8. Loyalist will face the Humber Hawks in the semifinal with a chance to compete for OCAA gold on the line.

Not to be outdone, the Lancers Men's Basketball team delivered an electric performance of their own, battling to a 94–89 win over the Sheridan Bruins. The victory pushes Loyalist's winning streak to nine straight and sends the team to the OCAA Final Four for the first time in recent memory.

The men will compete at the 2026 OCAA Men's Basketball Championship, hosted by the St. Clair Saints in Windsor. They, too, will clash with the Humber Hawks in the semifinal, seeking their path to a championship final.

Sunday's double‑header was more than just two playoff wins—it was a defining moment for Lancer basketball. Two teams, two semifinal berths, a roaring crowd, and a farewell to the Lancerdome that felt almost cinematic.

As both programs head into Final Four weekend, they carry not only momentum, but the pride of an entire campus community behind them.

History made. Legacy honored. And the journey isn't over.
