Lancers Welcome Windsor Guard Skyler Cimpean to Men’s Basketball Program
April 1, 2026
The Loyalist Lancers men's basketball program is thrilled to announce the signing of Skyler Cimpean, a versatile 6'3 guard/wing from Windsor, Ontario, who will join the roster in the 2026–2027 OCAA season.
Cimpean brings elite size on the perimeter, creativity with the ball, and a competitive edge shaped by high‑level training environments. Most notably, he spent the 2024 off‑season as a practice player with the Windsor Express, where his energy, athleticism, and shot‑making ability earned him an offer to sign professionally. Choosing instead to continue his academic and athletic development, Skyler shifted his sights to post-secondary education.
When asked why he chose Loyalist, Cimpean pointed immediately to the culture: "Definitely the family environment" he says". "And the number of former athletes who chose to come back and work or teach at Loyalist."
This fall, Skyler will begin the Computer Systems Technician program, a field that aligns with his interest in technology and future career opportunities, further demonstrating his drive both on and off the court.
Outside of basketball, Cimpean brings a wide range of passions that speak to his creativity and curiosity. He is deeply interested in art, music, history, and a long list of other areas.
The Lancers are excited to welcome Skyler to the team and look forward to the impact his talent, energy, and leadership will bring to the court.
Welcome to Loyalist, Skyler—Let's go Lancers!
