Golf Team Returns to Action
The Lancers golf team kicked off their season with a strong showing at Black Bear Ridge Golf Course in a tournament co-hosted by the St. Lawrence Surge and the Lancers.
Returning players Anderson Scott and Zach Slavin brought valuable league experience to the team, with Scott shooting an 84 and Slavin a 90. The highlight of the day came from newcomer Spencer Cranley, who shot an impressive 81, earning him the top scorer spot for the Lancers. Fellow newcomers Cody Harron and Rob Beare both posted a score of 92.
Head Coach Marc Ray expressed his pride in the team's performance, stating, "I am so proud of how our players battled in our first event of the season. Nerves were a big factor yet no one threw in the towel. All players gained the experience needed to grow in future events but should be happy with today's results."
The Lancers' lone female golfer, Emily Parliament, also made history by securing the best ranking for a female golfer in the program's history, finishing with a score of 118. This performance marked an encouraging start to the season, as the team now looks ahead to building on these results in future events.
