Lancers Take Down Sting 3-1
The Loyalist Lancers men's volleyball team delivered a stellar performance, defeating the Seneca Sting 3-1 (21-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-14) on Saturday afternoon at Loyalist College.
After a slow start in the first set, the Lancers refocused and turned up the intensity both from the service line and at the net. Recording 15 aces on the night, tough serves kept the Sting at bay through the last 3 sets. On the defensive side , the Lancer took charge at the net with consistent blocks that slowed the Sting's offense and led to 8 stuff blocks for the home team.
Second year Lancer, Liam Hill turned in a season-high game in an electric performance for the Lancers. Leading the team with 20 kills and a .581 hitting percentage, Hill showed impressive offensive prowess in both the front and back row. Setter, Tobi Archibald ran an intelligent, dynamic offense that consistently left one-on-one attacks for his teammates. With 37 assists, 6 aces, 2 kills and a block, Archibald's contribution to the win is undeniable.
In the final two sets, the Lancers showcased their depth and composure, pulling away with commanding leads and never looking back. This victory highlighted the Lancers' ability to adapt and execute under pressure.
The Lancers look to conitinue building on sucess when they travel to Ottawa on November 22nd and 23rd to take on the Algonquin Wolves and La Cite Coyotes.
