The Lancers took down the George Brown Huskies in an exciting 74-61 victory Saturday in the Lancerdome.
Playing in their final home game of 2021, the Lancers played with intensity, drive and passion from the first whistle to the last. After trailing 11-9 at the end of the first, the home team got to work and outscored the Huskies 23-22, 19-10 and 23-18 in the next 3 quarters.
Playing great team basketball at both ends of the court, the Lancers scored an impressive 44 points inside the paint, as well as grabbing 29 defensive rebounds and adding 11 steals in the victory.
Three Lancer players recorded double-doubles; Daija Thompson, Ali Alexander and Thesa Pagan. Alexander lead the game in scoring with 25 points, 16 rebounds and a steal. Thompson contributed 18 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals and Pagan added 16 points and 10 rebounds of her own.
The Lancers travel to the St. Lawrence Surge on Tuesday for a final exhibition contest before they begin regular season play in January.
