The Lancers were back in full effect tonight as the Women's and Men's Basketball teams both secured victories in their opening games of the OCAA regular season against the Seneca Sting.
The women played first and got off to a great start scoring the first basket and leading 26-14 at the end of the first quarter while maintaining the lead 38-23 going into the half. Daija Thompson was the standout in the first half with 13 points and added two in the second to bring her total to 15. The Lancers kept the lead in the third with the Sting inching closer, bringing the game within 9. In the closing two minutes of the game the Lancers dug deep to widen the gap making it 56-49. The home team was able to hold off the comeback, pulling through to a 61-50 victory. Cianah Miller had an amazing game with 11 points each half for an inpressive total of 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
The Lancers look to add another win when they host the George Brown Huskies on Saturday February 12th at 1 PM.
