Head Coach Caleb Hugh and his women's basketball team are excited to welcome Nicole Taylo to the squad.
Hailing from Mississauga, ON, Taylo boasts a resume that is extensive in both playing history and leadership. She was named co-captain in her final season with the St. Martin Secondary School team and helped push the team to an impressive second tier 1 ROPSSAA championships finish.
Taylo has played competitively for Jayhawks Basketball, Gladiators Basketball & the Mississauga Janguars since 2017 where she again captained the team in her final season. This 5'4" point/shooting guard also represented the City of Toronto during the 2019 U16 US-FBA Intercity Basketball tournament in Maryland, USA.
"Nicole will step into our guard rotation right away and provide good competition in practice" says Coach Hugh. " Handles the ball and shoots the 3 well but her biggest asset is her positive attitude and coachability. She's going to be a great addition to our team."
Taylo has accepted a seat in Loyalist's Child & Youth Care program starting in September 2022 and is looking forward to being a member of the campus community. "I really like how welcoming the school community is. I believe that Loyalist will be the best suited school for me as I am able to further my education and play post-secondary basketball, while having an amazing support system behind me."
Coach Hugh and his team will be hosting training camps throughout the summer before tryouts begin in September. Anyone interested in joining the team is asked to complete the Prospective Athlete Form.
