Women’s Basketball Advances to OCAA Quarterfinals After 75–55 Playoff Win
The Loyalist Lancers Women's Basketball team continues its historic season, advancing to the OCAA Quarterfinals after a strong 75–55 victory over the Redeemer Royals on Saturday, February 21. The match up saw the East Division's first place team (Loyalist) hosting the West Divisioin's 8th place (Redeemer) in a cross-over qualifier to get into the next round.
This playoff win comes on the heels of a remarkable regular season that saw the Lancers finish undefeated for the first time in program history and claim the title of OCAA East Division Champions.
Local standout Grace Callahan delivered another dominant performance, recording 21 points and 12 rebounds to help power Loyalist into the next round. Callahan's presence on both ends of the floor set the tone early, and her consistency throughout the season has placed her among the top players in the province.
Behind strong ball movement, aggressive defense, and steady scoring throughout all four quarters, the Lancers controlled the pace of the game and never looked back.
With their undefeated record intact and the qualifier round complete, the Lancers now look ahead to the OCAA Quarterfinals. They'll host the West Division's 4th place St. Clair Saints (9-7) on Sunday, March 1st at 1:00 PM.
This group has already made history but they're not finished yet. Join the Lancers at the game on Sunday in their push to the OCAA Final Four.
