Lancers Basketball Earn Major Recognition in OCAA Women's Basketball Awards
The Loyalist Lancers Women's Basketball team capped off a spectacular 2025–26 campaign with an extraordinary sweep of major OCAA league honours, celebrating both team success and individual excellence across the East Division and the entire province.
Claiming the title of OCAA Women's Basketball East Division Champions, the Lancers established themselves as one of the premier programs in the conference. Their dominance was reflected not only in the standings, but in the long list of accolades earned by student‑athletes and coaching staff alike.
Fourth‑year standout Grace Callahan emerged as one of the most decorated players in the country this season. Her awards include:

- CCAA All-Canadian
First-year guard Sophie Vanni delivered one of the strongest rookie seasons in Lancer history, capturing an incredible slate of awards:
- East Division Second Team All-Star

- Overall OCAA Rookie of the Year
- East Division All-Rookie Team
Her impact was immediate and undeniable—combining athleticism, decision‑making, and defensive tenacity well beyond her years. Vanni's recognition as the Overall OCAA Rookie of the Year cements her as one of the league's brightest rising stars.
Veteran contributor Kayley Lemaire earned a well‑deserved spot as an East Division Second Team All-Star, showcasing her versatility and experience throughout the season.
Meanwhile, Nina Anderson brought spark and energy off the bench, earning the title of East Division Sixth Woman of the Year. Her ability to shift momentum and provide immediate production highlighted the depth that made Loyalist so difficult to match this season.
The remarkable achievements of the program were guided by head coach Caleb Hugh, who was named East Division Coach of the Year and overall OCAA Women's Basketball Coach of the Year. Under Hugh's leadership, the Lancers executed one of their most complete seasons in program history—balancing discipline, culture, and a relentless competitive standard that powered the team to the top of the division.
