The Loyalist Lancers women's soccer team closed out their regular season with a tough 6-0 loss to the Durham Lords in their final home game. Before the match, a pre-game ceremony honored the Lancers' graduating athletes: Emily Mealing, Jen Keller, Kellee Smith, Kalysta Bullis, Mackenzie Rees, Evangeline Nykl, Kayla Hartwick, Taylor Wyngaarden, Jenna-Mae Oikle, and Brooke Balson.
The first half featured a competitive battle between the two squads, with both teams fighting for control. However, the Lords found the back of the net 24 minutes in and again just before halftime, scoring in the 45th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Lords continued to press, adding four more goals to secure the 6-0 win. Despite the loss, the Lancers are still in the playoff hunt and are likely to secure 8th place once all team's league games have been played.
