Lancers Add Local Firepower with Commitments of Mya Windover and Dakota Roberts
May 7, 2026
The Loyalist Lancers women's soccer program is excited to announce the addition of Mya Windover and Dakota Roberts, two local student‑athletes who will join the team for the upcoming season.
Both players bring strong ties to the Bay of Quinte region, along with a shared passion for the game and a commitment to continuing their development at the collegiate level.
Mya Windover, from Trenton, ON and Bayside Secondary School, joins the Lancers as a 5'9 striker with an extensive soccer background. She has played for 15 years, including time in the KBFC Academy, part of the Ontario Soccer high‑performance pathway. That experience has allowed her to compete in structured, competitive environments and continue to grow her game.
One of Mya's standout moments came during her Grade 10 season, when she scored the overtime game‑winning goal for Bay of Quinte, showing her ability to step up in key situations. She will be entering the Massage Therapy program this fall and chose Loyalist for the opportunity to stay close to home while continuing both her academics and athletics. Outside of soccer, she enjoys staying active through basketball, softball, hockey, and water sports, reflecting her well‑rounded athletic background.
Joining her is Dakota Roberts from Belleville's Eastside Secondary School, who will add versatility as a striker and centre midfielder. Standing 5'10", Dakota has been playing soccer since the age of four and has developed her skills through years of high school and community league play.
Her resilience and dedication to the sport were clear in one of her favourite career moments, when she scored in her first game back after a year away from the sport, highlighting both her perseverance and passion for competing. Dakota is looking forward to meeting her teammates and contributing to a strong team environment as she transitions into the program.
Dakota will be studying in the Pre‑Health program with plans to pursue nursing. After exploring her options, she felt Loyalist offered the strongest combination of academics and environment.
Outside of soccer, she enjoys working out, listening to music, and painting, bringing a well‑rounded and creative energy to the team.
Together, Mya and Dakota add depth, experience, and a strong local presence to the Lancers roster. Their additions continue to strengthen the connection between the program and the surrounding community while building toward the upcoming season.
The Lancers are excited to welcome both players to the team and look forward to the impact they will make on the field.
