LANCERS DOWN HUSKIES IN 5
The Lancers won their final game of the exhibition season with a 3-2 victory over the George Brown Huskies.
The Lancers won a 5 set battle against the George Brown Huskies in their final exhibition game of the season Friday night at home.
After getting off to a slow start and dropping the first set, the Lancers got back on track with back to back wins in the second and third to take the lead. The Huskies battled back to win the fourth, tying the game and forcing a fifth and final set. The fifth set was a tigh battle from the start and went point for point until the Lancers strung two points together to finish the game 16-14.
First year Lancer Erika Robertson put forth a great defensive effort while Sierra Scott showed off impressive blocking skills in the front row. 5'7 setter Ally Brownlee ran a smart offense against the Huskies, recording 23 assists on the Lancers' 26 kills.
Scott led her team in scoring with 9 kills and 3 blocks for 12 total points.
With the exhibition season in the books, the Lancers kick of the regular season on Friday January 7th when they play host to the Huskies once again.
