Lancer Go 1-1 With Wolves
The Loyalist Lancers volleyball teams went 1-1 with the Algonquin Wolves at home on Saturday, November 9th.
The women's team get off to a strong start and took the first set 25-22. Despite full efforts, the Wolves battled back and took the next 3 sets 25-23, 31-29 and 25-22 to take the game 3-1. Second-year standout Charlie Cudmore (Ottawa, On) led with 11 kills, 2 aces, and 2 blocks, while libero Erika Robertson (Uxbridge, ON) continued to shine in the backrow with stellar block coverage, defence and serve receive passing.
In men's action, the Lancers swept Algonquin 3-0 with set scores of 25-21, 27-25, and 25-21. Liam Hill (Stratford, ON) led the offensive attack with 14 kills, 2 blocks, and an ace, while Carson Orser (Belleville, ON) and Kian Titus (Newmarket, ON) each added 9 points. Setter Tobi Archibald (Aylesford, NS) directed a dynamic offense that kept the Wolves at bay while libero Holden Breault (Napanee, ON) provided support in the backcourt.
The Lancers are back at home on Saturday, November 16th when they host the Seneca Sting.
