Jesse Dykxhoorn Named Head Coach of Women’s Volleyball Program
The Loyalist Lancers are proud to announce the hiring of Jesse Dykxhoorn as the new Head Coach of the women's volleyball team ahead of the 2025–2026 season.
Dykxhoorn brings more than 15 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the game. A former OCAA standout himself, he spent five seasons competing for the Redeemer Royals, playing multiple positions before capping off his career as the national leader in digs and digs per set as a libero that year.
His coaching resume includes a successful five-year run with Conestoga College, where he played a key role in turning their men's volleyball team into an OCAA contender. Most recently, Dykxhoorn joined the Lancer family in 2024–2025, providing video analysis and technical support for both the men's and women's programs but is looking forward to his new role within the program.
"I am excited about this new opportunity and am looking forward to getting into the gym to get things going for the upcoming season" he says. "We have a great group of both returning and incoming athletes. The OCAA is a fantastic league, and I look forward to working hard together as a group to get the best out of every athlete that is in our gym and to compete at a high level."
With volleyball participation numbers higher than every in the area, Dykxhoorn is already looking ahead at the future of the program. " This region is quickly transforming into a volleyball hotbed, and we're excited to continue to build a program where both local and out of town athletes can come to compete and pursue their passion for the game."
Dykxhoorn's coaching philosophy centers on hard work, accountability, and constant growth. He sets high standards for his teams, not just in their performance, but in how they show up for each other. His athletes are expected to outwork and out-defend their opponents, take care of the ball, and play with integrity and heart. Above all, Dykxhoorn fosters a culture where trust and support are foundational, and every player is encouraged to become the best version of themselves both on and off the court.
Off the court, Dykxhoorn is a dedicated Grade 8 teacher and a passionate advocate for youth development. He's excited to continue shaping the next generation of student-athletes through a game he loves deeply.
"We are thrilled to welcome Jesse into the role of Head Coach for our women's volleyball program. With his impressive background as both a player and coach, Jesse brings a wealth of experience and a true passion for the game. His enthusiasm and leadership will have an immediate impact, and we're excited to see how he helps our athletes grow and develop both on and off the court."
