Bio

Jesse Dykxhoorn took over as Head Coach of the Loyalist Lancers women’s volleyball team ahead of the 2025-2026 season, bringing more than 15 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the sport. A versatile and accomplished athlete, Jesse played five seasons in the OCAA for the Redeemer Royals, competing in multiple positions and finishing his final year as the national leader in digs and digs per set as a libero.

Jesse's coaching journey spans high school athletics and post-secondary competition. He spent five years with Conestoga College, where he helped transform the men’s  volleyball program into a consistent contender in the OCAA. He also spent the 2024–2025 season doing video analysis with both the men's and women's teams at Loyalist.

As a coach, Jesse builds his teams around hard work, accountability, and a relentless drive to improve. He expects his athletes to outwork and out-defend their opponents, take care of the ball, and compete with intensity and integrity. Trust, growth, and mutual support are pillars of his approach, players and coaches alike are challenged to become the best versions of themselves, both on and off the court.

Off the court, Jesse is a dedicated Grade 8 teacher and a proud advocate for youth development who is he is excited to continue shaping the next generation of student-athletes through a game he truly loves.
