The Loyalist Lancers women's volleyball team had a challenging start to their home schedule, dropping two tough matches over the week.
On Wednesday, the Lancers battled the St. Lawrence Surge in a thrilling five-set showdown. Despite pushing the match to the limit, Loyalist came up just short, dropping the game 3–2. Charles Cudmore led the team with an impressive 35 points, while first-year Lancer Jamie Routledge, a 5th-year league veteran, added 5 points as a setter.
On Saturday,November 1st, the Lancers faced the Centennial Colts and fell 3–1. Cudmore contributed 15 points, Routledge scored 7, and first-year Kaitlin Burn added 16 points across the two games, showing early promise for the Lancers' young roster.
While the results weren't what the team hoped for, the Lancers showed resilience and determination in both contests. With strong performances from Cudmore and key contributions from newcomers Routledge and Burn, Loyalist will look to build on these efforts as the season continues.
